Company President Mike Tapio’s construction experience is built on the solid foundation of hard work ethic and strong morals. Mike started working around construction sites as a teenager and continued to learn the trade by operating his father’s construction company. In 1985 Mike received his Certified General Contractors license in the state of Florida.

Over the years Mike has constructed commercial buildings and residential properties. He’s also completed many extensive renovation projects. As a commercial builder, Mike built a wide range of structures, including everything from a chain of daycare schools to granite mausoleums. As a residential builder, Mike has constructed multi-family residences and multi-million dollar homes. Complimented by expert interior design skills from his wife Gail, Mike is committed to quality.

In 1999, the company relocated to the Upstate of South Carolina to focus on the residential market. Tapio Builders is seen as one of the Upstate’s premier custom home builders. Tapio builders has built custom homes in prime subdivisions such as the Cliffs, Acadia, Willow Creek and Hammond Pointe on Lake Robinson and Woodland Hills– proof of Tapio Builders’ dedication to professionalism and expert attention to quality.
